Trip to North Goa
EXCURSION TO GOA
May 2nd, 2018 our college finished and we decided to go on a vacation with Friends and what better a place than Goa to enjoy with Friends? Hence, the offer was posted on the Group Chat. We are a group of 10 friends from college, we party a lot and drink so much that jests are made about our group by our fellow mates in the college. However, this time only five of us were ready to go on a vacation, because of their own reasons other five could not make it.
Anyhow, 15th May, Five of us met on the Airport and our Flight took off at 5:30 and after 2 hours we were in Goa.
| A HEAD CLEARED OF THOUGHTS |
BASICS
Goa is extremely cheap in May and very hot at the same time, not that much crowded but still one will find ample amount of tourists.
Its very easy to find a Cab outside the Dabolim Airport and at a very fair price plus the local people including the drivers are very Honest and Simple so one can easily rely on them.
The Beaches and Sights are located far from each other hence, One need a Bike, Scooter or a Car to visit all those places. Hopefully, all these Vehicles are readily available at very fair Prices and one should not forget to Bargain.
Accommodation
Goa is flooded with Tourists from November to February which is why even the worst accommodations are not available easily and are hard on pocket but in May, Resorts and Villas are easily available that too on cheaper prices . For our First two Days we booked a resort for as low as Rs. 3800 for the first day and 2700 for the consecutive day. For the rest of our stay we booked a villa nearby, for 1900 per day and the accommodation was easy and comfortable.
However, Goa is nothing about accommodation. The Nights are enjoyable and it is advisable that one should turn himself into an Insomniac to see what Goa really is.
Day 1
We reached our resort at 9:30 AM and checked in as soon as possible, in the mean time we went to see the Calangute Beach which was just at a walking distance from the resort.
we drank a couple of Beers as it was hot outside and enjoyed the water moving back and forth with sand covering our feet with each wave.
We returned and decided to sleep as all of us were awake since 2:00 AM.
Three of us got up soon and went to the local market to buy Beers and rent Scooters.
Beers are as cheap as Rs.70 for a Pint and Scooters for Rs. 250 per day plus Security.
SHIVA VALLEY
Shiva Valley is a Hill near Anjuna Beach in North Goa which is 9 km from the Center of the Main City.
Here is a Beach Party held every Night after 11:00 PM till 5:00 in the morning.
Meanwhile,The party started and we entered it with a one time entry of Rs. 700 per person.
The Music was psychedelic, Most of the People were high on drugs, and it was difficult to find weed even though we tried our best.
the music makes you move and one can enjoy dancing with anyone they like. the staff is very cooperative and lets you enjoy without any disturbance..
Finally, a guy gave us the needed Joint and we began to enjoy the beats within. I can't describe the Trip I enjoyed there for a few hours.
Most of the Visitors come here to get laid and it is said that if one stays till 5 AM they get to get Laid for Sure.
We got Bored eventually because of lack of the needed weed and so we decided to get back by 2:00 AM.
It is also advised that one must be aware of the foreign Girls who have actually permanently settled here and play those who visit Shiva valley for Money. They can be Pickpockets and may get you in trouble so one needs to enjoy with utmost care and should not accept any offer of Drugs and Sex.
Shiva Valley is all about enjoying yourself and to forget all your worries and it is actually Mean to Demean its reputation by adding Drugs and Sex solely to its Name. It is more than that.
DAY 2
Morning of 16th we woke up with a very Light head and felt very Good and without wasting any time we went to see the important sites.
VAGATOR BEACH
Vagator Beach is 15 km from Calangute and is a very calm place during the daytime however, it gets crowded during the Sunset time because the Sunset at Vagator is picturesque and Mesmerizing.
We got back to the resort during the Afternoon time and started drinking our Beers and Swam in the Swimming pool and at 3:00 PM we went to see Chapora Fort which is also near Vagator Beach.
| SUNSET AT VAGATOR BEACH |
CHAPORA FORT
Chapora Fort is what remains of a proud fort high enough to be seen from the Ground and a good place to Lose yourself in the mesmerizing gaze of the infinite.

BAGA BEACH
The Night in Goa gets better and better as it grows just like old wine and maybe this is the reason people visit Goa to Drink. They get intoxicated because of the Drink plus the Night Factor and the Breeze only works as a Catalyst to it.
Baga Beach is a Heaven in North Goa and the best place to go to at Night if you wish to Drink and Eat and Laugh under the Stars with Sweet Noise of Waves hitting the shore and Families Chatting, Celebrating Birthdays and Anniversaries plus Drunk People Singing at the Karaoke. its a Fun Place for friends to hang out and Laugh but only if you want some private time among the public and is a must visit. The Restaurants are open till 2:00 AM and they provide the best Goan and Indian Cuisine one can wish. Moreover, they let you sit there till Dawn.
Our Group ate only at Brittos because we happened to find it the best somehow and never Switched it.
P.S-My Group visited the same every Night Drinking and Laughing till 4:00 AM till it was time to pass out.

DAY 3
This is literally the only day when we did nothing during the daytime except to eat our fill and Sleep. Probably because the last night's hangover was still on us. Anyhow, the Evening was as beautiful as it could be.
BARS & CLUBS
Goa's Fever was on us and it was time to hit on random chicks and move your body to enjoy the Night.
We decided to go to Tito's Lane which is near Baga Beach. This Lane is full of Bars, Restaurants and Clubs. however, Entry as a Stag can be very costly and its free for Girls and entry as a couple saves a few Bucks.
We expected to enter clubs full of Girls but there is another problem with these Clubs that they keep stags separated from Couples and Girls so we lost our chance. Dancing only with Dudes is like entry into a Gay Bar where every other Guy is as frustrated as You are. So we Drank and got out.
Important
As soon as we moved out Tito's lane we were caught by a few Pimps who told us that they have bars where female dancers are there and entry is just Rs. 600 plus offering a drink or two one can get to dance with them and can do whatever they like for a time. Our eyes shined bright and we wanted to give it a try so we went inside and the Scene was Crappy. There we got the worst time because the bar was full already with Shitty, Creepy people and those Girls looked like Hookers who also abuse and it was nothing the Pimps described. again we drank our fill few of us including me also spent a few bucks on those Girls too for fun, and we tried to enjoy it but I personally could not anyway we moved out because the place didn't seem to be cool so it is better to be aware of such offers from pimps because actually it might seem cheap to you at pocket but actually this kind of Bars are as Crappy as their Lighting and the kind of people visit them in the Hope to find a Hooker for a Night Stand and Literally, the way these girls drink it seems as if they are actually drinking water and nothing else because even after getting 6 shots of Tequila these girls just stay Sober and Trick you.
We got back and we were laughing very hardly throughout the Night because of the same. The way we were tricked .LOL
DAY 4
Not wasting a Minute we rushed into the morning to have access to good sights of Goa which are Aguada Fort Upper and Lower.
AGUADA FORT
Upper
The Upper Aguada is a Fort is a fort located 9 km south of Calangute and is a place at a height so the drive is actually mesmerizing with curves, Highs, Lows and flashes of sea from a height.
The Navigation works very good and is very helpful in Goa.
All the forts in Goa are free of cost to visit and have a timing. This fort is quite better, still intact. However, the daytime is very harsh. Due to its height the Sun proves to be very Scorching and one cannot stand for long at a place like upper Aguada.
The only amusing thing is the view of sea, the still working Light house and a big Map of the 18 Forts in Goa the Portuguese built. it is advised to visit the place in the Evening.

Lower
The Lower Aguada Fort is a Beach and is actually more of a watch tower and its remains have been converted into Beach Side Resorts.
This place gives you some of the best Scenes, Solitude and Fills you with Joy. I don't know why.
It is also called Sinquerim Beach. Here, one can easily do Water Sports and it is not very much crowded either.

LOVE PASSION AND KARMA
In Short LPK, is a Club or a resort and as people say it is indeed a heaven to those who are lucky enough to visit it.
In the evening of our 4th Day we decided to visit this place. In order to save a few bucks we approached a few Girls to get in as a Couple. The Entry is Rs. 4000 for Stags(Single Boys), Rs. 2200 for Couples and Rs.0 for Girls.
This place is a heaven, Drinks, the Food, Music and the Crowd all are so good.
DAY 5
We were so worn out by the Night that 4 of my friends could not even wake up on the day 5.
we stayed in the Villa and I decided to have a look around at the Countryside. I took out the Camera and went to see the local Habitats, Churches and Villages Nearby.
WATER SPORTS
Goa Offers a wide variety of Water Sports and a few of them are:
- PARASAILING
- BANANA RIDE
- BOAT RIDE
- DEEP SEA DIVING
- SWIMMING
- JET SKI
Hence, one must choose the Package where the time limit is more and the number of activities are few. for e.g. One must opt Jet ski only if he/she is trained enough to do it alone otherwise the don't even let you touch the deep water and its all over.
Parasailing offers two options one with 5 to 7 minutes and another with just 30 seconds in Air.
My Adventure
I decided to go farther into the sea and experience the actual adrenaline Rush so I took a Different package.
We all were aboard a Normal Boat and the crew took us 1km into the Arabian Sea and we were shifted on a Yacht.
This Yacht was taken further into the sea from where each Beach was easily Distinguishable and visible.
PARASAILING
The Parasailing began and I was paired with a boy of almost 14 as none of my friend was there. The moment you take the flight the body takes shivers and as you look down at the Blue water knowing that it is real deep and when you are given a flight a little higher than usual a terrestrial Animal feels the Butterflies inside.
The Driver kept giving us Dives into the Sea using the Lever on the boat and the First Dive caused me to have a Jelly Fish Sting( A minor One, which I confirmed with the Boatmen). My Legs were burning but I let go of the Burns and focused on the Adventure. The Parasailing continued for 5 minutes and I consider them one of the best 5 minutes of my life. A different kind of a High.
DIVING AND SWIMMING IN THE SEA
The Boatmen dropped the people into the Sea with his own hand and asked me to jump. I stopped and thought for a few seconds then suddenly I climbed over the cliff and Jumped which caused me to go down as deep as twice of my height but the Life Jacket supported me and brought me back. Believe me I feared a bit while I was under water. "What if Never get out of it?"
I know how to swim so I started swimming and kept doing it for 10 minutes and the experience was Sinusoidal. One moment I was all Joyous the other I dreaded. At last I got back and we were given a boat ride and ferried down to the Beach. On the way I rode the Scooter with an Open Heart and active mind as if I had got a Drug.
The MARKET
Since, it was the last day so we also needed to shop a few goods to take back as presents and memories of Goa.
The outlets sell imported goods as well as Liquor and Goa is Famous for Cashew FENI. the most expensive one costs nearly Rs.800 and one is permitted to carry 2 bottles into the Aircraft.
The Local Made Clothes are Cheaper and are very beautiful to look at and are also very comfortable at the same time.
We also bought Cashew which is Rs. 380 for a Half Kilogram Packet.
We returned back the scooters and the Manager dropped us at our villa .
Budget
- Return Flight- Rs.6500
- Hotels/Villas - Rs.2400/person
- Food & Drinks- Rs. 5000/person
- Pubs, Clubs and Beach Parties- Rs.4000/person
- Taxi and Scooter Fare- Rs. 1500/person
SUMMARY
Goa is a Lovely place, A real Charmer and its true by the fact that its Hangover stays for a couple of days even though you get back to your Den. I myself wished a little more time.
And Probably the reason behind that is that "Goa Lets you Enjoy the Way you Want to" .
The Tourists that come to Goa are a Good Company and they are the ones who make Goa what it really is. There is nothing which Goa shouldn't be Proud of.
Though the Season we chose as per the availability was hot and humid and it wasn't possible to utilize full time and most of our time was spent sleeping and resting, still we had a good time and it really cleared my head from the fever I had from the normal Monotonous Life.
